ST. PAUL, Minn. – Northern State University senior Mitch Boeck has been named as the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Week for his performances on the court over the weekend.  Boeck racked up 62 total points for the Wolves while leading the team to two straight road wins over Winona State on Friday and Upper Iowa on Saturday.

The weekend effort was one of the best of Boeck’s career, as the senior averaged 31.0 points per game on 22-for-37 shooting (59.5 percent) from the floor.  He scored 25 points on Friday at Winona State and came up with several key steals down the stretch to preserve the Wolves’ first win at WSU since March 6, 2005. He then returned to score a career-best 37 points in Saturday’s win, including the team’s last 16 points in the final five minutes of the game.

For the weekend, Boeck scored 62 points and was 16 of 18 from the free throw line. He also had seven assists, three blocks and three steals while playing 67 of a possible 80 minutes. That performance gives Boeck 993 career points with five games left in the regular season.
