ABERDEEN, S.D. –
Northern State University sophomore Austin Suther and junior Cody Hageman closed out the NSU Multis on Monday with third and fourth place finishes, respectively.  Suther, who contested just four of the seven disciplines over the two-day event, finished with 2,358 points, while Hageman, who contested six of the seven, was fourth with 2,335 points.

The pair used the event to fine-tune their skills for the upcoming Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference multi-events, to be held in the Barnett Center on Feb. 14-15.

Jamestown College’s Josh Dwalt held on to his lead after Day 1 to finish in the top spot with 4,424 points.  Greg Schenavar of the University of Mary finished second with 3,967 points, moving ahead of Suther in the process.

Suther did not contest either the 60-meter hurdles or the pole vault on Monday, but did finish third in the day-ending 1,000 meters with a hand time of 3:16.4.

Hageman competed in all six disciplines up to the 1,000 meter run.  However, he did not receive a mark in either the long jump or the pole vault.
