PAUL, Minn. – Northern State University will makes its 12th straight appearance in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference post-season tournament on Wednesday when the Wolves travel to Duluth, Minn. to take on the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in the first round of the 2009 tournament.  The Wolves claimed the seventh seed in this year’s bracket and will face the second seeded host Bulldogs in a 6:30 p.m. match-up on Wednesday.

That game will be a re-match of an Oct. 7 meeting between the two teams, which saw UMD take a 2-1 victory over the Wolves in Aberdeen.

NSU has not missed an NSIC tournament appearance since the program’s inception in 1998.

Winona State University claimed the overall conference title and the accompanying top seed, and will host Concordia-St. Paul on Wednesday, while third-seeded St. Cloud State will play host to Bemidji State, the only team in the conference to top the Warriors this season.  Fourth-seeded Minnesota State, Mankato will face off against No. 5 seed University of Mary.
