Tracking Coach Meyer Back to the Pack

(Aberdeen, S.D.) Sept. 29, 2008 -  Due to the large number of requests for updates on Coach Meyer we have made some modifications to how these messages are being sent. Thanks for your patience as we work to provide timely updates on Coach and his progress to the thousands of people who have requested updates.

On Friday he was moved to a new room on the rehab floor. His daily physical therapy and wound dressing process continues to be extremely painful, but is becoming more tolerable.  Coach is also being encouraged to increase his caloric intake.

Coach and Carmen continue to be overwhelmed with the many thoughts, wishes and prayer.

“My life will never be the same,” said Coach Meyer. “I have given this all to the Lord, and he is creating many beautiful things.”

Out of respect to other patients and their families in ICU, hospital officials ask folks to please wait to visit in person. More updates to come.

If you would like to receive daily updates please enter your email address below and we will send them to you.

Sept. 23, 2008 - Coach Meyer had a good Monday, with visits from Senator John Thune and a special surprise from Aberdeen's Number One Fan, Nate Thompson. Coach also got to go for a short wheelchair trip outside of the hospital - this was the first time he has been outside since the accident.

Doctors are still trying to get a better handle on the pain following the amputation. Coach has redefined their pain scale method - they ask him to rate the pain from 1-10 and he says 1,000.

Coach and Carmen continue to thank everyone for their prayers, wishes and email messages.
