ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Northern State University Men’s Basketball program has signed four additional recruits to join the Wolves men’s basketball roster in 2008-09. Lance Lee, Bojan Todorovic, Logan Rohs and Milos Jerotijevic will join the Wolves 2008 recruiting class this fall.
“These recruits are solid and will bring additional talent to our team,” said NSU head coach Don Meyer. “We’ve got some holes to fill following graduation, and these players have the right kind of personality with the right kind of talent to help us reach our goals for this upcoming season.”
Lance Lee - 6’7 forward from Fergus Falls Community College, Fergus Falls, Minn.
“We are excited about Lee’s versatility to play both the power forward and post spot for us,” said Meyer. “He has the necessary athleticism to guard a variety of positions and we feel he has the team attitude to daily serve his teammates. Lee comes from a very solid coaching background with Jason Retzlaff at Fergus Falls Community College who stresses fundamentals and team play.”
“Lee has been an outstanding player and person for us the past two years. I’m thrilled that he has the great opportunity to play for Coach Meyer and his elite basketball program,” said Coach Jason Retzlaff of Fergus Falls Community College. “It’s a great fit and a place I know he will continue to improve. I’m really happy for him.”
Bojan Todorovic - 6’9 forward/center from Pozarevac, Serbia
“Todorovic has the ability to play inside and outside at a productive level. He has a great team attitude and work ethic to match his athleticism. Both Lee and Todorovic will help bolster the inside game for the Wolves next season.”
“The Guilford basketball staff is proud of Todorovic’s accomplishment in becoming a member of the NSU basketball program," said Casey Kildulf of Rockford Guilford High School. “His strong work ethic, competitive nature and passion for the game will prove to be an asset to the continued success of the Wolves' basketball team.”
Logan Rohs - 6’9 center from Eden Prairie HS, Eden Prairie, MN
“Rohs is a young player who has the potential to excel after work in the weight room with our head strength and conditioning coach, Derik Budig,” said Coach Meyer. “Rohs has the ability to run the floor, block shots, rebound and has a nice shooting touch to finish.”
“This is one of the biggest athletic men I have ever coached,” said David Flom of Eden Prairie High School. “With his 7’2 wing span, he is a freak. His best basketball is clearly ahead of him. Rohs kept flying under the radar his senior year due to some health issues. As a result, NSU is picking up a potential difference maker.”
Milos Jerotijevic - 7'0" center from Mountain State Academy, Belgrade, Serbia
“Milos' best basketball is ahead of him. He possesses the ability to score from the outside and, more importantly for us, he can develop a powerful inside game," said Meyer of Jerotijevic. "Milos' work ethic in the weight room will be a major factor in determining how dominant a player he can become in our league. We are excited to have a chance to work with a player who possesses the potential to contribute heavily to a championship program."
"It is an honor to have Milos play for Coach Meyer, one of the best big men coaches in the country. His vision for Milos' development is why he sits near the top of the NCAA coaching wins list," said Rob Fulford, head coach at Mountain State Academy. "Milos has an unbelievable upside. A 7-footer with his mobility and three-point range doesn't come along very often, particularly at the DII level. Northern State is getting a steal with Milos. The fans of NSU basketball are getting a very special player and an even better person."
The Wolves officially begin practice for the 2008-09 season in October. They open up their season on the road in an exhibition game against Coach Tubby Smith and the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers.
The Wolves ended their 2007-08 season with a record of 29-4 and advanced to the Championship round in both the NSIC and Regional Tournaments before falling to Winona State, who captured the NCAA Division II National Championship. The 2007-08 season saw Coach Don Meyer becoming the most winningest active coach in any division in NCAA history with a win record of 891-299.
Northern State University is an NCAA Division II affiliate of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) and is located in Aberdeen, S.D.
