Las Vegas, Nevada – The Northern State University wrestling team took part in the Cliff Keene Las Vegas Invitational Friday and Saturday in Las Vegas, Nev. and ended up finishing in 41st-place with 5.5 points.
The tournament featured 35 NCAA Division I teams out of the 44 total that participated, including 12 that are ranked in the top-25.
Donnie Bowden had the best tournament for the Wolves as he went 2-2 in his 174-pound weight class. He lost his first match of the tournament to Steve Luke of the University of Michigan by fall at 4:25 in the match. He then picked up two consecutive wins over Johnny Ortega of Western Wyoming by a tiebreaker 7-6 and then by an 11-1 major decision over Bryan Panzano of Harvard before losing 12-2 to Shane Onufer of Wyoming.
