Emily Becken
Women's Basketball
Emily  Becken notched her first double-double of the season with a 17-point, 11-assist effort in the Wolves' 76-65 win over the University of Mary.  Becken was one of four Wolves in double figures in scoring and one of three players to notch a double-double, marking the first time that has happened this season.  NSU has now won four straight games.

Men's Basketball
Jordan King (G, 6-0, 180, Jr., Arlington, S.D./Arlington HS) led an NSU comeback effort against the University of Mary with a career-high 16 points on Saturday despite playing just 17 minutes of the game.  King drained four of eight 3-point attempts, including several late treys to keep the Wolves in contention.  He was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while dishing out five assists and coming up with one of the team’s three steals.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - The Northern State grapplers had their season home opener tonight in back-to-back duals against University of Sioux Falls (0-1) and Dakota Wesleyan University (1-2).  Northern State was on top of their game all night long as they dominated both matchups winning by final scores of 37-7 against USF and 39-6 against DWU.  Northern's next home match is on December 12th against Jamestown College. 

Northern dominated the Cougars of the University of Sioux Falls by a final score of 37-7.  Sophomores Dave Schiley (141-lb.) and Cale Cornemann (184-lb.) both got pins for the Wolves.  Freshman Donnie Bowden (165-lb.) picked up his first collegiate dual win with an 8-5 decision.  Bowden had a takedown in the third period that gave hime the win.  With two forfeits and three wins, the Wolves started their first home dual with a 25-0 lead.  Northern posted wins in six of the eight weight classes wrestled.

Northern started out the dual very strong with pins by senior Todd Naasz (197-lb.) and sophomore Jared Little (Hwt.).  Sophomore Corbin Surat (125-lb.) sent his match into overtime by tying the score 3-3 with six seconds left in the third period of his match.  He ended up losing by sudden victory in the first overtime.  Rick Schiley (133-lb.) won by technical fall with a final score 20-5.  Northern ended the dual the same way they started it with two pins by sophomores Phillip Downs (174-lb.) and Cale Cornemann (184 lb.)  Northern posted wins in eight of the ten weght classes.  Northern won the dual against Dakota Wesleyan 39-6.
