Jordan King
Men's Basketball
Jordan King (G, 6-0, 180, Jr., Arlington, S.D./Arlington HS) led an NSU comeback effort against the University of Mary with a career-high 16 points on Saturday despite playing just 17 minutes of the game.  King drained four of eight 3-point attempts, including several late treys to keep the Wolves in contention.  He was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while dishing out five assists and coming up with one of the team’s three steals.

Women's Basketball
Emily  Becken notched her first double-double of the season with a 17-point, 11-assist effort in the Wolves' 76-65 win over the University of Mary.  Becken was one of four Wolves in double figures in scoring and one of three players to notch a double-double, marking the first time that has happened this season.  NSU has now won four straight games.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. - For the second straight year, Northern State University junior Maggie Fedor has been recognized by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) as an All-Central Region performer for her on-field efforts. Fedor, who was also honored by the NSCAA in 2008, was tabbed to the Third Team All-Central Region squad. The all-region teams were recently announced by NSCAA officials.

DULUTH, Minn. - The University of Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs waited until the very end before figuring out a way past a staunch Northern State University defense, slipping a corner kick into the net and escaping with a 1-0 victory in the quarterfinal round of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference post-season tournament Wednesday evening.

ST. PAUL, Minn. - Four Northern State University soccer players were tabbed to various All-Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference teams, which were released by league officials on Wednesday. Sophomore Kaylee McDonald (First Team), junior Maggie Fedor (Second Team), and seniors Laura Skog (Third Team) and Summer Swan (Honorable Mention) all earned accolades. All-Conference honorees are nominated and voted on by the head coaches of the 14 teams in the NSIC.

PAUL, Minn. – Northern State University will makes its 12th straight appearance in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference post-season tournament on Wednesday when the Wolves travel to Duluth, Minn. to take on the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs in the first round of the 2009 tournament.  The Wolves claimed the seventh seed in this year’s bracket and will face the second seeded host Bulldogs in a 6:30 p.m. match-up on Wednesday.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Winona State University Warriors came into Sunday’s game needing at least a tie to clinch at least a share of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference regular season title.  The Northern State University Wolves nearly came up with the thwart, taking a 1-0 lead in the first half, before watching the Warriors erase the advantage less than two minutes later and claiming the go-ahead goal with just over 15 minutes remaining in regulation to take the 2-1 victory.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Wolves clinched a berth in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference for the 12th straight season on Saturday despite playing Upper Iowa University to a 0-0 double overtime tie in a critical NSIC match-up.  UIU came into the contest facing a must-win situation in this final weekend of conference play to retain hope of breaking into the top eight.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University senior defender Laura Skog was named to the recently released ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) Academic All-District VII.  The honor is the first of her career.
