James Paul
Baseball
James Paul (Sr., SS, R/R, 5-8, 165, Paynesville, Minn. / Paynesville HS) led the Wolves batters with a .542 average in their 1-5 week this week. He went 13-24 with five RBI, two doubles, and four runs scored with a .625 slugging percentage and a .577 on-base percentage (1.202 OPS). The senior also earned two walks and was a perfect 2-2 on stolen base attempts.

Ashley Gabler
Softball
Ashley Gabler (OF, So., Minnetonka, Minn./Benilde-St. Margarets HS) led the Wolves with a .357 batting average in six conference games this week. After struggling in two home games on Wednesday, Gabler bounced back to go 5-for-9 (.556) at the plate for the Wolves in their four-game road trip and racked up a .600 on base percentage. The sophomore drilled her second home run of the season in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader against 24th ranked Minnesota State, Mankato, breaking up the Mavericks’ shut-out bid in the process.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Wolves Club will host a fall membership drive kick-off on Monday, Aug. 30 with a fall sports ice cream social. Wolves Club members are invited to the Barnett Center at 6:30 p.m. for a meet & greet with the fall sports student-athletes and coaches.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University cross country coach Kevin Bjerke has announced that Aberdeen Central stand-out Brittany Arment has signed a national letter of intent to join the Wolves' running program in the fall. Arment will graduate from ACHS in May and will begin her NSU career in August.

WAYNE, Neb. – The Northern State University men’s and women’s cross country teams finished 13th and 15th, respectively, on Saturday, competing in the NCAA Division II Central Regional Championships. The men’s race featured 19 teams, while the women’s competition was 22 teams deep.

BEMIDJI, Minn. – Competing in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships, the Northern State University men finished sixth behind a pair of top-20 finishes from Richard Keroack and John Rawerts, while the women’s squad claimed eighth in the team standings on the strength of sophomore Mikayla Barondeau’s 15th place individual finish.

WAYNE, Neb. – Running a day ahead of schedule due to a blustery and snowy weekend forecast, the Northern State University Wolves competed at the Wayne State College Pre-Regional Invitational on Friday with the women finishing fourth while the men had just four runners in the race and did not qualify for the team standings.

WAYNE, Neb. – A bitter weekend forecast, which calls for cold and windy conditions across the region, the Wayne State College Pre-Regional Invitational cross country meet has been moved up a day and will now be held on Friday.
