Ashley Gabler
Softball
Ashley Gabler (OF, So., Minnetonka, Minn./Benilde-St. Margarets HS) led the Wolves with a .357 batting average in six conference games this week. After struggling in two home games on Wednesday, Gabler bounced back to go 5-for-9 (.556) at the plate for the Wolves in their four-game road trip and racked up a .600 on base percentage. The sophomore drilled her second home run of the season in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader against 24th ranked Minnesota State, Mankato, breaking up the Mavericks’ shut-out bid in the process.

James Paul
Baseball
James Paul (Sr., SS, R/R, 5-8, 165, Paynesville, Minn. / Paynesville HS) led the Wolves batters with a .542 average in their 1-5 week this week. He went 13-24 with five RBI, two doubles, and four runs scored with a .625 slugging percentage and a .577 on-base percentage (1.202 OPS). The senior also earned two walks and was a perfect 2-2 on stolen base attempts.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – For the third straight season, the Northern State University women’s basketball program has led the entire Division II nation in attendance, according to the final national statistics released by the NCAA last week. The Wolves drew 40,564 total fans to 14 home games for an average of 2,897 fans per contest.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - Lennea Mueller was not ready to take off her Northern State University uniform for the last time but, unfortunately, the Augustana Vikings would not let her and the Northern State Wolves pull off a first-round upset Wednesday night at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. as the Vikings held firm in their home court for a 67-55 Northern Sun Tournament victory.

The 15-12 (11-9 NSIC) Northern State Wolves make their first NSIC tournament appearance since the 2007-2008 season on Wednesday when they face the No. 2 seeded Augustana College Vikings (22-5, 16-4 NSIC) in the first round of the tournament at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - They only got five points from their bench, and they wouldn’t even need that much.
Four Northern State starters scored over 12 points Saturday and by themselves outscored the visiting Southwest Minnesota State Mustangs by the same amount in earning a 67-50 NSIC victory Saturday at Wachs Arena in Aberdeen, S.D.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University officials have dubbed Saturday’s men’s and women’s basketball games against Southwest Minnesota State University “white out” games. Similar to previous “maroon out” nights, NSU fans are encouraged to wear white attire to the games in support of the Wolves.

Sophomore Emily Becken scored a game-best 20 points while the Northern State University Wolves had all five starters finish with six rebounds en-route to a 58-50 win over Minnesota State University Moorhead Wednesday evening in Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference women’s basketball action.

The Wolves take on Southwest Minnesota State in a pair of key Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference match-ups. The women will tip off at 6 p.m. with the men to follow.
