Athletes of the Week
James Paul
Baseball
James Paul (Sr., SS, R/R, 5-8, 165, Paynesville, Minn. / Paynesville HS) led the Wolves batters with a .542 average in their 1-5 week this week.  He went 13-24 with five RBI, two doubles, and four runs scored with a .625 slugging percentage and a .577 on-base percentage (1.202 OPS).  The senior also earned two walks and was a perfect 2-2 on stolen base attempts.


Ashley Gabler
Softball
Ashley Gabler (OF, So., Minnetonka, Minn./Benilde-St. Margarets HS) led the Wolves with a .357 batting average in six conference games this week.  After struggling in two home games on Wednesday, Gabler bounced back to go 5-for-9 (.556) at the plate for the Wolves in their four-game road trip and racked up a .600 on base percentage.  The sophomore drilled her second home run of the season in the first game of Sunday’s doubleheader against 24th ranked Minnesota State, Mankato, breaking up the Mavericks’ shut-out bid in the process.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Wolves Club will host a fall membership drive kick-off on Monday, Aug. 30 with a fall sports ice cream social.  Wolves Club members are invited to the Barnett Center at 6:30 p.m. for a meet & greet with the fall sports student-athletes and coaches.

VERMILLION, S.D. - The Northern State University men's golf team sits in fifth place at the Coyote Invite after the first round of competition with a team score of 321 strokes. The meet is being held at The Bluffs Golf Course in Vermillion, S.D. and is hosted by the University of South Dakota.

WAYNE, Neb. - In the first action of the 2010 spring season, the Northern State University men's golf squad finished in eighth place after Monday's second round of the Wayne State Spring Invitational. The Wolves shaved six strokes off their Day 1 team score, but still slipped from seventh place into the eighth slot, just one stroke out of seventh.

GOTHENBURG, Neb. — The Northern State men’s golf team rounded out their time at the 2009 Regional Crossover Tournament which took place in Gothenburg, Neb., the past two days, finishing in 17th place

MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Northern State University men’s golf team finished up their participation at the Cobber Invite, hosted by Concordia-Moorhead on Saturday and finished with a team score of 605 over the two-day event to finish in fifth place.  The Wolves would be in competition at the Augustana College Fall Invite on Sunday and Monday and would finish in fourth place.
