Jordan King
Men's Basketball
Jordan King (G, 6-0, 180, Jr., Arlington, S.D./Arlington HS) led an NSU comeback effort against the University of Mary with a career-high 16 points on Saturday despite playing just 17 minutes of the game.  King drained four of eight 3-point attempts, including several late treys to keep the Wolves in contention.  He was also a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line while dishing out five assists and coming up with one of the team’s three steals.


Emily Becken
Women's Basketball
Emily  Becken notched her first double-double of the season with a 17-point, 11-assist effort in the Wolves' 76-65 win over the University of Mary.  Becken was one of four Wolves in double figures in scoring and one of three players to notch a double-double, marking the first time that has happened this season.  NSU has now won four straight games.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University head baseball coach Mark Gulseth has announced his captains for the 2010 season. The two players chosen to lead the team are seniors Payton McCleary and James Paul. Both have contributed to the program since their freshman year.

ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University Baseball has signed Sheldon Ekstrand (Simi Valley, Calif.) during the early signing period for the 2011 baseball season. Ekstrand (6'2, 170) is a pitcher/shortstop for Coach Dan Maye and the Royal High School Highlanders. At the varsity level, Sheldon has a pitching record of 5-1, with a 3.56 ERA. Ekstrand will join the Wolves in the fall of 2010.

The eight new faces are Bryce Anglin (Aberdeen, S.D.), Ben Buckingham (Sheridan, Wyo.), Charlie Dunnick (Windom, Minn.), Evan Jordre (Aberdeen, S.D.), Thane Lees (Rapid City, S.D.), Taylor Morsching (Aberdeen, S.D.), Kyle Nemec (Vermillion, S.D.), and Brad Rintoul (Medicine Hat, Alta.).

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – The Northern State University baseball squad traveled down I-29 to Sioux Falls, S.D. Saturday to take on "So Dak" rival Augustana College in the first doubleheader of a four-game series and fell to the Vikings by scores of 11-4 and 11-2.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The Northern State baseball squad continues to have Mother Nature wreak havoc on their schedule, as they were forced to move yesterday afternoon’s doubleheader with St. Cloud State to the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome in Minneapolis, Minn. with the games starting at 8:00 p.m.  The two teams were not done playing until after midnight and the Huskies swept the doubleheader by scores of 6-3 and 14-3.
