Jodi Reinschmidt
Women's Basketball
Jodi Reinschmidt (So., F, 5-11, St. Michael, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) was a force for the Wolves this weekend, averaging 9.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as they went 1-1.  Reinschmidt recorded her second double-double of the season on Saturday, putting up 11 points and 15 rebounds as the Wolves knocked off #25 Augustana by a 64-53 count.  In NSU's 2-game weekend, she also had six assists, three steals and one block.


Mitch Boeck
Men's Basketball
Mitch Boeck (Jr., G, 6-4, Arlington, S.D./Arlington HS) set a new career high on Friday after scoring 19 points in NSU's win over Wayne State.  He then proceeded to set another new career high just 24 hours later, putting up 21 points in the Wolves' overtime loss to Augustana.  Boeck had five 3-pointers in each game.

RENO, Nev. - Northern State University seniors Wade Royer (Murdo, S.D.) and Ross Pfeifle (Rapid City, S.D.) both turned in strong performances at the 2009 National Pole Vault Summit, held in Reno, Nev. on Saturday, Jan. 3. Royer and Pfeifle both cleared 14 feet, 9 inches in the competition portion of the summit, good for a 20th place tie.

GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Freshman Mikayla Barondeau (Frederick, S.D.) drained 10 of 12 attempts from the free throw line en-route to a career-high 20-point effort as the Northern State University Wolves blew past the host Mesa State College Mavericks Monday afternoon as part of the MSC Holiday Inn Christmas Classic.  The Wolves raked in the 74-58 win using 40 trips to the charity stripe to counter eight 3-point buckets from the Mavericks, who committed 27 fouls as a team.

ABERDEEN, S.D. – After a 15-day layoff, the Northern State University men’s basketball squad was back on the court Sunday afternoon, and found itself in a fight to the end with the visiting Midland Lutheran College Warriors.  The Wolves, playing in their first game since an exhilarating win over Minnesota State on Dec. 13, managed to outlast the Warriors 77-74 to improve to 10-1 on the season.
